Extra Mile Home Care is an owner run provider of recruitment service, due to expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate individual to join our growing team as a care coordinator/ Depute manager in our Horsham branch.

As the care coordinator/depute manager you will be responsible for managing a team of care assistants and nurses as well as maintaining a good communication line with customers and other parties to ensure we deliver a high standard of care.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a passion for delivering good quality, person centred care
  • Ideally have at least 2 years of experience within the care sector
  • Be flexible and reliable
  • Be computer literate
  • Be a good team player
  • Be motivated and able to work on their own initiative
  • Have exceptional people management skills
  • Must be a driver with access to own vehicle
  • Must live within a reasonable distance of the Horsham area as part of the role with entail being on call.
  • Will take responsibility for their actions and give great customer care

Duties Involved:

  • Preparing care staff rotas
  • Writing and reviewing care plans
  • Conducting risk assessments and spot checks
  • Interviewing potential candidates
  • Participating in the on-call rota.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for Care Workers providing advice and guidance. 
  • Providing an excellent service for our customers, care workers and other healthcare professionals.

Job Requirements About you 

Attention to detail and ability to professionally communicate with Clients and Care staff is an absolute requirement. 

Previous experience within a Care Setting is preferable. 

Experience as a Care Coordinator or scheduler would be very desirable. 

Ideally qualified to Level 3 Health & Social Care or equivalent is desirable and a good level of IT proficiency is essential. 

 Work pattern:

  • Success candidate must be in office, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri (09:00-17:00) then on call the rest of the evenings and nights
  • Sat / Sun on call day and night.

You will have one weekend off in month

  • Holidays must not be taken in busy periods such as summer holidays, school half times as these are the times our clients need us most.
